Yoga For Golfers

There are many benefits to Yoga and a golf game which many golfers are turning to to improve their game. Yoga is a workout that will increase your flexibility helping with your angle, swing and speed. Yoga can be practiced at a fitness center or in your own home with the simple exercises.

Chest Expansions

Stand in a relaxed stance with your feet together. Interlock your fingers behind your back. Hold the position for 30 seconds. Each time you exhale try to tighten your hands a bit more. Ben forward without becoming uncomfortable and then relax your neck. Repeat these exercises a few times each.

Forward Bend

For a forward bend, stand with both feet together or slightly apart from one another. Look forward, exhale and bend forward at the hips. Keep your knees straight and relax your neck. Place your fingers on your ankles, feet or ground. Hold the position for 30 seconds and inhale and return to the starting position. Repeat a few times.

Seated Twist

Sit on the floor with your legs stretched out in front of you. Stretch your knees and press them onto the floor. Keep your toes pointing up and sit up straight. Inhale and bend your left knee and then overlap your left foot over your right knee. Turn your head, arms and chest about 90 degrees as you exhale. Use your right hand to grab your knees and exhale. Repeat the seated twist a few times.
